NCLI - Take Action

The No Child Left Inside (NCLI) Act, sponsored by Rep. John Sarbanes of Maryland and Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island, was devised to insure all students acquire at least basic environmental literacy. The legislation would provide new funding for education that connects students to the environment as part of standard Science Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) studies. It would also fund teacher training and state environmental literacy plan development. These amendments to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (No Child Left Behind) are necessary to keep American students from being “left behind” in environmental education.
